Corpus Christi College Wedding Photography: when everything just… clicks

Your wedding day. Probably the most expensive day in your life. So here is my advice if you want to make sure you spend your money “wisely”… it all comes down to one thing and one thing only… make sure everything just… clicks.

For Tegan and Theo, it did just that, it all clicked.

What clicked?

Quite obviously, they clicked… what I mean is on the day itself, they clicked. A lot of eye contact, a lot of checking in with each other, a lot of communication, a lot of tenderness in the mix too.

The bride and the groom separately clicked too. They had, around them, exactly the people who they could feel relaxed and authentic with. From split second moments of tenderness with her mum, to spontaneous dancing sprees with her best man in her hotel room, Tegan clicked in the moment and let everything go.

The venue clicked: Corpus Christi College and Leckhampton House, Cambridge. A place very important to both of them, having been where they both studied and, met. So they didn’t go necessarily for a typical wedding venue, they went for something that was meaningful to them.

The food clicked… because they are both totally obsessed with good food and they needed their wedding breakfast to reflect their own high standard. I did not take images of the food because I was too busy eating it too. Sorry not sorry.

The guests clicked… all these different worlds that collide and yet totally make it work and have a blast. If you relax into the day, so will your guests. And if your guests are relaxed, meaningful connections are made.

Their suppliers clicked. And here, I am going to talk from my point of view. From the minute I arrived, as Tegan said “Totally do your own thing, I totally trust you”…, well I did just that, I went with my creative flow. I knew Tegan and I shared a similar attitude to life in the sense that we feel things intensely, we care about our loved ones enormously, and we invest so much of ourselves in what we do, whatever it is. So we spent the day dancing… metaphorically, I figured out what story was important to her very quickly, and I got to work (see images below)…

Everything clicked. But it all did because a) they planned around what had real meaning for them and b) they let go and embraced the now and trusted that all that “clicking” would happen by itself.

So take a look at the images below… I will not let myself down by saying that indeed there was lots of metaphorical and literally clicking that happened that day… no I will not do that.
