The Farmhouse at Redcoats Wedding Photography: Are weddings mainly about gratitude?

Do you ever start talking to people you’ve never met before and think “wow, this is easy”… I mean, when it’s easy to converse, easy to get along, easy to have a laugh, easy to share stories. I mean, we’ve all had these instances when the exact opposite happens, right? When you meet someone and think, within a few minutes, uh oh, this doesn’t work… Well, this is what a zoom session is good for when you look for a photographer. And what I can say is that the first few minutes of e-meeting Sarah and Ben was just dead easy. We had a laugh, we ended up talking about something entirely different than photography or their wedding… but we just got on.

So below is a story of people who, well, make it very easy to get on with. When I arrived at the Farmhouse at Redcoats Barns a short while before I was due to knock on Sarah’s door, I noticed something which basically set the mood of the day but also summed them up in one tiny action… and here it is.

Just one sentence: “The love that raised us”.

So much is said in so few words. I immediately got an intense sense of gratitude from these two. And this feeling really permeated throughout the day. All the speeches, all interactions, all that energy was just so full of gratitude. And I reckon that’s one of the things that make them so easy to get on with.

And really, genuinely, without wanting to be unnecessarily soppy, I am mega grateful to the couple for that day. I ended up having a fantastic time, I was totally trusted to get on with what I do best and also connected with a few of the guests in the process.

As usual, here are a handful of images to sum up the day and its fabulous energy. Happy viewing.
